Dialogue goes beyond the Independence thesis in exploring conceptual parallels between evolutionary theory and theological doctrines. We will examine three scientific concepts for which theological analogues have been proposed: first, complexity and self-organization; second, the communication of information; and third, top-down causality between levels. These concepts must be considered within science itself before the parallels in theology can be considered.
